BEFORE YOU START
  • Your engine should be cold for this intervention. Do not attempt to work on a hot engine.
  • Remove all bolts (socket No 10) that hold the canopy to the main frame all around. There are many of these, be patient!
  • Remove the side panel to the air filter side, keep the one to the exhaust side lose. You cannot remove it yet.
  • Empty as much as you can fuel.
  • Lifting the canopy requires some force. You are lifting some 20 Kg away from your body.

Small generator canopy removal pictorial

1- Close the fuel valve at the filter level, remove the fuel arrival hose from the injection pump.
2- Remove the fuel return hose.   
3- Pinch both hoses and attach them with cable ties.
4- They will remain attached all along your intervention to avoid fuel spill.
5- Remove the air filter cover and the air filter.
6- Unscrew the main panel, tilt it to the outside.
7- Tilt again horizontally and let it pass through the canopy to the inside.
8- You have freed the canopy. Take it out and watch your back!
9- The generator is now bare and ready for your intervention.
